Online Training: Are You Ready?

100 years passed since issuance of the first degree! MBA made many steps forward.

Could the Dartmouth College administration assume it would still keep on being "alchemy" for some people, when giving its students the first evidence of MBA diploma receipt in 1902?

Indeed, Terra MBA - "business education land" was printed on maps quite long ago. However, creative forces of several generations were spent to find out this continent outlines and relief.

Active period of MBA mastering began in 1967 with emergence of business schools in Europe (London and Manchester), and since that time, no one in the world argues MBA benefits for business.

By itself, virtual education system gives everyone a chance to acquire additional knowledge, regardless of national, racial, sexual, social and other characteristics that might otherwise become a reason for discrimination (it is very important for some countries). Much greater role is played by personal characteristics, preferences and qualities promoting or not contributing to successful virtual learning.

What do you need to make virtual study successful? First, a student must be willing to share professional and educational experience with others. Internet helps overcoming internal psychological barriers preventing active participation in discussions during visual contact, but at the same time, it firstly does not allow you feeling the audience. Therefore, virtual environment must be friendly and open to constructive dialogue. Secondly, you need skills of confident keyboard handling and ability to express your thoughts in writing. (In virtual space, almost all communication takes place in writing.) And finally, a student should not hesitate to report on his problems. Otherwise, instructor will fail to intervene in a learning process and provide necessary assistance, since virtual training excludes most outward signs helping him understanding a student has any problems (confusion, anxiety, loss of interest in subject, absenteeism, etc.)

Bringing freedom and flexibility in training process, Internet requires responsible attitude towards it, real internal motivation to employment and self-discipline in meeting deadlines and requirements for students. One should have a good understanding interaction in virtual classrooms can be very intense, although this is not the same as communication with fellow students in informal setting or student dormitory. Many students see online courses as a convenient way to get education, but not easier than traditional.

Virtual classes are usually built on gradual "speed increase" principle. It is extremely important not to skip classes and complete tasks on time. Teachers say that if a student once drops out the overall process, "dragging" him back is almost impossible.
